Bio
Equal parts moody, melodic and eclectic...
In defiance of cautionary tales of cosmic peril, shape-shifting Melbourne alt-rock pioneers SENTIA have charted their course through a galaxy of influences, daring to orbit progressive rock, synthwave, metal, reggae and beyond. Their sonic spacecraft; a groove-laden fusion of immersive synth-scapes and intricate guitars, fronted by the captivating theatrics of vocalist Amos Phillips.
Stalwarts (or is that stale warts?) of the Melbourne prog and alternative gig community, Sentia's flair for the dynamic, dramatic and cinematic has become a signature of the band's awe-inspiring live shows, setting them apart as stellar anomalies in the Australian alternative scene.
Sentia's latest single, WINTERSON, continues the band's string of new releases produced with the legendary FORRESTER SAVELL (Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect, Cog, The Omnific) with drums engineered by LUKE PALMER (Dead Letter Circus).
Winterson was launched with a triumphant show at Stay Gold in Brunswick, alongside Aussie prog legends BUSHIDO and VERONA LIGHTS.
"...cohesively blending electronic, reggae and jazzy elements at times. And it all rolls off their hands in seamless fashion in a live setting."
Sense Music Media
"Yeah, I loved this band. They were just an absolute joy to watch, and I can’t wait until I have a chance to see them again."
Overdrive Mag
"SENTIA play twisty, turny, slippery alt-rock that is a little more experimental than others, but every bit as catchy."
themusic.com.au
"The musicianship is excellent, vocals are strong, songs are easy to listen to and never gets too much. Not many prog bands around at the moment can boast such things."

Press Release
As the fog clears, Sentia's haunting, hypnotic and hard-hitting new track, WINTERSON, conjures a sense of bleakness and despair, carried on by an unwavering determination to move forward.
Written during a period of intense anxiety, vocalist Amos Phillips recounts how it nearly saw the end of his ability to perform:
“Anxiety is a mother f*cker! It’s stolen what should have been some of the happiest times of my life and damn near destroyed me on more than one occasion. After a particularly bad panic attack one sticky summer evening, I swore to myself that I would do whatever it took to get over this and get my life back.”
This release is the fourth of Sentia's string of new singles produced, mixed & mastered by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect, Twelve Foot Ninja, The Omnific) with drums engineered by Luke Palmer (Dead Letter Circus).
“Next summer I’ll be better…”
Winterson is out now on all major streaming platforms.
An equally eerie and cinematic music video for Winterson is set to land on Friday February 16.
Directed by Grayton Hevern and filmed around the picturesque hills of Gippsland, Victoria, the video for Winterson explores the traces of anxiety, addiction and mental health struggles that never leave us, no matter how much we try to forget who we really are.
The video's narrative follows singer Amos Phillips as he reatreats to the wilderness, carrying with him the burden of his own self-awareness. A box of polaroids in hand, filled with moments of outward happiness tainted by inward turmoil, he seeks to find a way to rid himself of the faceless demon that haunts him. The story is artfully cut against striking band footage with a strong colour palette, presenting in two broadly different visual styles that unite as the song and video reach a somewhat unresolved climax.
